OBX 2017
The beach was so much fun. We had lots of cousins to join us on the trip and the memories we made are priceless.

| After school I prepared pigs in a blanket "The Three Little Pigs" grape and strawberry skewer caterpillars "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" carrot sticks for "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" and lots of candy for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which we were currently finishing. |

| Wonka's fizzy lifting drink was by far everyone's favorite. The "lickable wallpaper" was also fun although I chose not to hang it! |

| Since Sarah loves to read and her birthday has held her back on K we decided to take the 1000 books before Kindergarten challenge at the local library. To begin, I packed away a lot of her books that we've already read multiple times so we would know what we have already recorded. Just look at that stack of books. I'm convinced this isn't half of what we've read already! |

| Instead we chose the old fashioned pinhole box Look how neat the clouds shined through. We were not in the path of totality but something like 93% we were able to see a nice crescent shape and then the shape reversed. |

Sarah is 4!
I'm sitting here and I'm 4 years old! Sarah Elizabeth is 4!? She is the sweetest, loving little girl. She loves her brothers so much, her cousin Gracie is her "best friend." She loves books and learning. She STILL loves Peppa Pig. She loves Barbie and watches it continuously on Netflix. She loves purses and shoes. She ALWAYS has a purse with books in it in the car. She can sing the alphabet but still messes up on the "now I know my ABC's" part and usually asks me to sing it for her. She is recognizing most of the alphabet and can write her many along with her name. She also recognizes and writes Mommy, Daddy, and Elijah and Levi. She can count to 10 sometimes higher. She loves "yucky" green vegetables and always says "not yuck, yum" and likes pointing out the ones she loves while reading Pinkalicious.  |

| April 29, 2017 was a very warm day. Levi went to the park to ride his new birthday bike and then we came home with Savannah and had pizza and cake and ice cream. Savannah showed us that she still remembered how to break the cupcake in half and have more even distribution of frosting! |

The previous winter I saw online that "big cities" were painting and hiding rocks as a way of spreading love and cheer. I was happy to see our little city join in the summer. I think I was more excited than the kids. The idea is that anyone who finds the rocks snaps a picture and posts it with the hashtag. That part didn't seem to work out that well, perhaps it was FB and the way it choses to "hide" certain posts. Whatever the reason we soon gave up, but we did have some fun. Sarah's favorite was purple glitter rock that she found by herself. The first rocks we painted were camo and pizza.
